Sesame Citrus Tofu

Ingredients

Created by: Plates of Plants 

1 block of Nasoya super firm tofu

2 Tbsp corn starch

1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp orange juice (2 oranges)

2 Tbsp lime juice (1/2 a lime)

4 Tbsp soy sauce

2 Tbsp maple syrup

1 Tbsp ginger

1 clove garlic, grated

2 Tbsp sesame oil

Sesame Ginger Carrots:

1 Tbsp maple syrup

2 Tbsp soy sauce

2 Tbsp ginger

1 Tbsp sesame oil

3 carrots, shredded into ribbons

1/2 Tbsp black sesame seeds

 

Preparation

  1. Drain and dry your block of tofu with a paper towel. Slice into desired cubes/triangles/rhombi/ you name it! Coat sliced tofu with cornstarch. Air-fry for 20mins or bake until crispy. Shake at the 10min mark. Transfer tofu to a pan over medium heat add sauce and heat until thickened. 
  2. Sesame Ginger Carrots: mix together liquid ingredients. Add in carrot ribbons and stir to submerge. Let it all marinade in the fridge for 1hour, then mix in sesame seeds.
