Korean Fried Chicken

Ingredients

Inspiration 

  • 2 packages Honey Garlic Plantspired Chick’n 

Batter 

  • 1 cup of Flour  
  • ½ cup of Corn Starch  
  • ½ tbsp of Onion Powder  
  • ½ tbsp of Garlic Powder  
  • 1 tsp of Baking Powder  
  • 1 cup of COLD Water  

Sauce  

  • 1.5 tbsp of Korean Red Chili Paste  
  • 4 cloves of Garlic (minced)  
  • 1 tbsp of Honey  
  • 0.5 tbsp of Soy Sauce  
  • 1 tbsp of Sesame Seeds  

Kimchi fried rice  

Spicy Asian cucumber salad  

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, corn starch, cold water, garlic powder, baking powder, and onion powder till smooth.
  2. Add in the chicken bites and make sure every piece of chicken is coated in the batter.
  3. In a pan, add in oil; once the oil is hot, add in the chicken and fry for 4-5 minutes or until crispy and golden brown
  4. Optional but HIGHLY recommended, double fry the chicken for another 1-2 minutes for the extra crispiness
  5. In a separate pan, add korean red chili paste, minced garlic, and 0.5 tbsp of soy sauce and turn the heat to medium. let the sauce simmer for 1 minute before adding in half of the fried chicken. toss well and garnish with sesame seeds.
